Biography of Federico Garcia Lorca
Federico Garcia Lorca was a Spanish poet and playwright who emerged as one of the leading figures among Spanish writers after the proclamation of the republic in 1931. He was born on June 5, 1898, in the small village of Fuentevaqueros, near Granada. In 1909, his family moved to Granada and Federico enrolled in school.
In 1914, Garcia Lorca entered the University of Granada, studying philology, philosophy, and law. In 1917, he published his first essay to commemorate the centenary of Sorrioli, and in 1918, his first book was published. In 1921, he released his first collection of poetry.
From 1929 to 1930, Garcia Lorca traveled to the United States and Cuba. After the proclamation of the republic in 1931, he joined the vanguard of Spanish writers. From 1931 to 1933, he led the mobile student theater group "La Barraca," which performed play
